Gout

Gout is a form of arthritis and causes very painful throbbing in your toe joint (most commonly in your big toe joint).

It is caused by an imbalance of uric acid in your body. Over time, your uric acid builds up in your blood and creates small ‘crystals’. These collect in one or more of your toe joints, causing inflammation that in turn causes pain.

Gout tends to affect more men than women and often runs in families,

At Kinetic Podiatry Clinic and following diagnosis, we can potentially help you to alleviate gout pain through the use of Orthotic and other forms of padding, all of which can help to redistribute pressure away from your toes.
